Want to develop custom made software?

Our customised software simplifies and automates time-consuming and error-prone business processes. This is useful when you want different systems to communicate with each other or when you don't have enough staff to perform all tasks.

The Websteen promise:

  • User-friendly
  • Cost-effective
  • Safe and fast
  • Can be linked to APIs

Why develop custom made software?

Custom made software, also known as web applications, automates time-consuming, error-prone or repetitive tasks within your business processes. Staff shortages are one of many good reasons to invest in a web application. Customised software saves you time, money and manpower.

Custom software can also be used to bring together various target groups (supply and demand). And last but not least, custom made software helps improve your ROI (return on investment) by increasing your efficiency and thereby reducing your costs. Websteen recently developed custom software for the following organisations, among others: Mogelijk Vastgoedfinancieringen, WTC Almere and Nederlandse Hersenbank.

Custom made software

  • Fully complies with privacy (AVG) and security guidelines;

  • Has a fast loading time;

  • Can handle many users;

  • Is platform-independent and can be used via any web browser;

  • Is easy to link to other software via APIs;

  • Can be made “mobile-first” or “responsive” if desired;

  • Has excellent UX and UI design: user experience comes first.

Our approach

01

Introduction

Before we start developing a custom made web application, it is important to get to know each other first. If there is a good fit and we agree that a web application is the right solution, we begin with a Sprint 0.

02

Sprint 0

Together, we draw up a plan for the web application in which we clarify all requirements and ensure smart sprint planning. In some cases, we also provide a few designs for the web application.

03

Setup web application

Before we start with the actual sprints, we install our basic setup for web applications and set up a staging and live environment.

04

Various sprints

We develop custom made web applications in various sprints ranging from 50 to 150 hours. We always start with sprint planning, followed by development, including daily stand-ups and, of course, a demo at the end of each sprint.

05

User training

Once the web application is ready for use, we will provide training for the various users. This ensures a smooth launch and implementation.

06

Launch

Once the web application is ready for use, we will provide training for the various users. This ensures a smooth launch and implementation.

07

Monitoring and updates

As soon as the web application goes live, we will link it to our monitoring software. We will also ensure that the software is kept up to date from now on.

08

Further development

In some cases, the development of a web application is an ongoing process. This means that we continue the sprints and deliver new functionalities to the staging environment. Once approved, these are put live.

What is a Laravel application?

We use Laravel software to develop web applications. This is one of the most widely used and well-known PHP frameworks in the world. We have developed Dragonfly software on top of Laravel: a toolbox with many components that allows us to set up a basic web application very quickly.

How much does custom software cost?

When developing custom software, we work with the aforementioned SCRUM methodology. Development costs are linked to so-called “sprints”. Depending on the custom software to be developed, we work with sprints of approximately 50 to 100 hours. For larger projects, we use sprints of up to 150 hours. We always start with sprint 0. Here, we map out your ideas and wishes so that we can get to work in a targeted manner.

FAQ about custom made software

Why have a web application developed?

Having a web application developed is ideal if you want to automate your business processes and work more efficiently. Whether you want to reduce repetitive tasks or enable systems to communicate with each other, a custom web application will save you time, money and personnel costs.

What are the advantages of a customised web application?

A custom made web application is fully tailored to the unique needs of your organisation. Compared to standard solutions or native apps, a custom web app is faster, more secure, more scalable and better aligned with your processes.

Who is a web app or web application suitable for?

Having a web app developed is interesting for organisations that need customer portals, online platforms, smart tools or, for example, a Lead Management System (LMS). Both large and smaller companies benefit from a well-designed web application.

How does Websteen develop a customised web application?

Would you like to have a web application developed that truly suits your business? Websteen works with the SCRUM methodology: a flexible Agile approach that allows us to build and improve in short sprints based on your feedback.

Is it safe to have a web application developed?

Absolutely. Websteen has been developing secure, custom made web applications for over 20 years. Security, reliability and scalability are our top priorities – whether you need a simple web app or a complex platform.

What is SCRUM and why does Websteen use it?

When developing web applications, we use the SCRUM working method. But what exactly is SCRUM? And what are its advantages? And is Agile the same as SCRUM? Let's clear up a misunderstanding right away: the terms Agile and SCRUM are often seen as synonyms. But they are not. Agile is a mindset that, in short, means you have to be agile/flexible in order to survive as a company and continue to develop. The most commonly used Agile framework is SCRUM, an effective and flexible way for a team to deliver projects in a more productive manner. It also allows any problems to be quickly identified and resolved.

How much does it cost to develop a web application?

Unlike with websites, we do not usually work on a fixed price basis when developing web applications. For web applications, like most of our colleagues, we work according to the tried and tested SCRUM methodology with sprints of around 50 to 100 hours. For larger projects, we use sprints of up to 150 hours.

Which programming language do you use for developing web applications?

For several years now, we have been using Laravel, one of the world's most widely used and well-known open source PHP frameworks, to develop websites and web applications. Laravel is an extremely useful development environment with standard building blocks that enable us to deliver top quality quickly and efficiently. An important advantage of working with Laravel is that it is constantly being developed. Our developers also regularly make improvements and add smart functionalities to our CMS. Laravel is used by many developers. Almost every web developer works with Laravel during their training. This makes it relatively easier to find good developers.

What about the backups of my data?

More than fine. Your data is in the best possible hands with us. Just as with building websites and web applications, we do not compromise when it comes to data security. Only the best is good enough. We understand better than anyone how important your data is and that we must take care of it, as the law requires, “with due care”. And that is exactly what we do.
