“If you had told me ten years ago that we would one day launch our own online platform, I would have laughed out loud. We were just handling lease contracts. Helping clients get the right car, at the right price, with the right service. And yes, that was going increasingly well. Until we realized our clients were missing something: insight and overview,” says Jeroen Zaal, board member of ActivLease and founder of PrismaFleet.
Many companies manage their fleets in Excel. Jeroen explains, “That works fine if you have three cars. But once you have fifty or a hundred, you lose track. Nobody knows who drives which car, when inspections are due, or whether fuel costs are correct. And we’re talking about serious amounts — a fleet of 85 cars can easily cost a million per year. You want that properly managed.”
From Excel to custom software
“There was only one problem: the system we were looking for did not exist. We couldn’t find what we had in mind anywhere. So we said to each other: then we will build it ourselves. And that’s how the adventure with Websteen began. I’ve known Websteen founders Roy and Dennis since 2015, when they built our first website. True professionals who deliver not only what you ask for, but also what you don’t ask for because it can be done better. That is really their strength. They know our company inside out. Half a word is enough. And they dare to say: you shouldn’t do it this way. That is incredibly valuable.”
Building something big together
“Together we developed MobyHub, an application that allows companies to manage their entire fleet. From invoices and fines to damages, fuel consumption, and passenger swaps. Everything in one system. Our clients no longer need to email or call; they simply submit a service ticket. The system takes care of the rest. And the best part is: Websteen doesn’t only think technically, they also think strategically. They help you consider what is scalable and what has a future. That’s how the system became much bigger than we ever imagined.”
“We wanted to make work easier. Now we have a new company as well.”
What started as an internal tool grew into something much bigger. Jeroen says, “Clients became so enthusiastic that we decided to turn it into a separate company: PrismaFleet. There we do one thing: offer professional fleet management with our own software at the heart of the operation. That is quite something. Ten years ago we wanted to make work easier for ourselves and our clients. Now it has resulted in an entirely new company. And honestly, none of this would have been possible without Websteen.”
About the collaboration
“What I love most is that Websteen really grows with us. We started when they were just a few people in a small office. Now they have grown into a specialized agency with the same mentality: personal, smart, and involved. You feel it in everything. Websteen is not a supplier for me, but a partner.””
